Yesterday was a crazy day- and I only had time to put my groceries away- so I didn't take a picture of them. But here is what I got.
Smiths- double coupon event (this ends TONIGHT!)
2 lbs Challenge butter
2- 4 packs Dannon Yogurt
4 Cover Girl Eye Shadow
1 French's mustard
4 cans of Dole pineapple
3 bottles of Ken's dressing
2 packages of Ronzoni Bistro meals
4 lbs of cheese
3 sticks of Secret deodorant
1 16 oz container of cottage cheese
2 packages of Deli meat
1 box Pringles Stix
I would have spent $75.36
But after coupons and sales I spent $16.07
That's a savings of 79%!
And then at Albertsons I purchased
8 bottles of Wishbone salad dressing
4 bags of salad (my salad dressing had hanging coupons that if you bought two Wishbone products you could get 1 free bag of salad up to $2- there were still some in an end cap display across from the dairy isle at the Center Street store)
4 Knorr Pasta Sides
4 boxes of Kix cereal
3 boxes of Honey Nut cheerios
2 bottles of Mayonnaise
I would have spent $62.72
and I spent $18.22- but got back a $15 catalina good on my next purchases at Albertsons- which means I really spent $3.22!
And without factoring in my catalina I saved 71%!
Now some of you probably are thinking- how in the world does she make meals out of all this random stuff? That is not a normal grocery shopping list. And it's true. It isn't. But I buy things when they are the cheapest most rock bottom price and as much of it as I can. Then I do the same thing the next week, I just buy different items. So now when I need to make dinner I can go to my pantry and shop there- rather than at the grocery store at full prices. Love it! I might go hit the Albertsons sale again this week, but for right now I need a little shopping rest. :)
I do have to say though the Albertsons on Center Street in Provo was AMAZINGLY stocked, and even the Smiths was! I was happy that the store managers prepared for these sales and really made an effort to keep the major sale items available. I think I'm going to call their corporate offices to let them know how great I think they both did.

Amazing Unilever sale at Albertsons!
In Albertsons Sunday ad they have two double coupons, but also announced in the ad the "Buy $20 Get $5 OYNSO" P&G catalina promo (and items), and the "Buy $30 Get $15 OYNSO" Unilever/GenMills promo (and items). There are TONS of HOT items you can get with your coupons not even doubling them! Here is a PYP list of those added deals in the grocerysmarts format.
Sale prices are effective 8/2 to 8/8!
I am busy today hitting Albertsons and Smiths to get a ton of great deals- good luck!

Doublers for Smiths- only through tomorrow!
Holy Cow! I am so excited- and definitely planning a double coupon trip to Albertsons and Smiths today- but mainly I'm thrilled for Smiths! Check here for a complete list of Smiths double coupon matchup ideas. Thanks PYP! I'm so loving all the options and you can use as many coupons as you want- there's no limit! They will double coupons up to $1- just like Albies- so that means your total double off could come to $2 per item! With the P&G promo- (buy 4 P & G items get $4 off your non P&G products) this could be a great time to double all those $1 coupons on diapers and detergent and the such! (Remember the double coupon event ends tomorrow August 4th!)

There's a new $1/2 Breyers coupon. At Albertsons they have their pint sized Breyers ice cream for $1. If you use your double coupon with it- this will translate into two pints of FREE ice cream! But it gets better. You can print another $1/2 Breyers coupon here. And then there is a catalina promo running that looks like this.
- Buy (2) & get $2/3 Breyers, Klondike, Popsicle, or Good Humor
- Buy (3) & get $3/4 Breyers, Klondike, Popsicle, or Good Humor
- Buy (4) & get $4/5 Breyers, Klondike, Popsicle, or Good Humor
- Valid through 9/23/09
If your Albertsons happens to be out of this ice cream, check to see when their next shipment comes in, and don't be too stressed because the catalina runs through 9/23. I am just not sure how long the pints will be on sale for $1.
Thanks Utah Deal Diva for the heads up on this great deal!
ALSO! Check here for more double coupon matchup ideas to use for this week's sale from PYP. You could score some free yogurt and cereal!

More Albertsons double coupons!
There are three doublers that were in yesterday's Sunday paper! They are on page A9 of the Trib, page A5 in the Des News and page B8 (or C3) of the Herald, and A7 in the Spectrum. Also if you haven't used your doubles from the ad on Wednesday- they should let you use one set of the coupons from the ad and one set from the newspaper- that is definitely worth my time!
UPDATE: O.k. there weren't any from the ad this past Wednesday- I was looking at the wrong week- just getting back on track. BUT when they do have doubles in the ad- and then on Sunday- this is their policy- which is great!
Go here to PYP for double coupon matchups and ideas!

Great Albies sale!
Like always... So I went to Albertsons this morning and had a great trip! Besides grabbing my Hawaiian Tropic coupons not the Banana Boat ones and all my Starkist Tuna coupons being expired (so I DIDN'T use a coupon for those)- I think I did pretty well.
If you haven't checked this sale out yet- go here and look at it! Cereal is .49 a box or FREE, yogurt is .50 for a 4 pack and although I normally try not to spend more than $1.79 for roast- for fathers day I threw a cross rib roast in the crock pot- when I usually use a chuck roast- and it was the most tender delicious roast I have had for a really long time- so I also grabbed a cross rib roast for $1.88 that I'm sticking in my freezer for later. I thought .10 more per pound for that amazing delicious and better meat- I'm going with it.
There are two double coupons in the ad you can use while there too! That makes for some free stuff! Here is the PYP double coupon list of free or dirt cheap things you can get with your double coupons this week.
Also just so you know if you buy 5 Starkist pouches you will get $1 OYNSO catalina that will print and that you can use like cash next time you go to the store. If you find a tear pad for $1.50/3 of them that makes the pouches .25 each- and then with the catalina even more insanely cheap. I heard they still have some at the Lehi Albies and the Orem State St. one if you wanted to check it out. There weren't any tear pads at my store, and like I said my other coupons were expired, so I got four cans of tuna and although I paid the full price after the instant savings of .75 each for them- I still felt pretty good about that. (The catalina will NOT print for the cans- and the cans are 5 ounces where the pouches at 2.5 ounces- I figured more ounces for my food storage if I don't have a coupon.)
Anywho here is my picture and list for the week.

One more disclaimer- we don't eat Frosted Flakes- but they were free after the sale and coupons, and I love giving things to the Utah Food Bank that I know other people enjoy. So even if you don't eat Frosted Flakes- go ahead and get it and maybe consider donating it to someone in need or a shelter.
I did use my $10 catalina from a sale there two weeks ago- but I felt great about what I was able to get, even if I didn't use that catalina.
I plan on spending $5 for 2 things of Banana Boat sunscreen and since I saved so much today, my budget for the week is so full- I'll have A LOT of wiggle room for eating out and miscellaneous items on the trip we're leaving on Saturday for.

No Albertsons double coupons yesterday.
Well, as I'm sure all of you know now- there were no double coupons for Albertsons in the newspaper yesterday. That's o.k. though, they have had so many in the last few weeks, I still feel great about Albertsons. I didn't go to the store last week because I waiting for the doubles to come out to shop today- but I think I'll save that money- and go this next Wednesday. That will give me a little more wiggle room to purchase items for our trip. Life is still great!

Awesome Albertsons trip!
Albertsons is having an amazing sale going on right now! When you buy $25 of participating General Mills products you get a $10 catalina back- pretty much a coupon for $10 you can spend on whatever you want to later on. You have to check it out- with free salad dressing and 30 cent pasta sauce- everyone is a winner! I also loved it because I was able to get some awesome road snacks- like Gogurt and Chex Mix trail mix for super cheap- which will serve us well on the California trip we're taking in two weeks. And I have been craving gogurt for weeks now- but they have always been out when I try to get it- so I am doubley stoked I was finally able to grab some!
A quick reminder as you figure out your shopping lists- maybe there is something on the list that your family wouldn't use that you would get for free or a quarter or less with one of your coupons. Consider getting it anyway and donating it to the food bank- they are ALWAYS appreciative of anything you're willing to give. And of course you can donate things that your family regularly eats too- if you have to start giving somewhere because you have to feed your family, I usually recommend trying that first- and then people get hooked!
Are you guys ready, here's what I got this trip:

I feel great about that! I also got some cheese and free granola bars with my double coupons earlier this week. However my husband wanted me to buy a meat tenderizer for a dinner he cooked two days ago- and that was $4 of my budget! I know $4 doesn't seem like a lot- but I'm now at $46.87 for the week- and I forgot to get milk this morning. That means I have $3.13 left to buy two gallons of milk. $4 more dollars in my budget would have been great. Oh well. We'll make it I'm sure. Happy splurge buy for my husband- and like he said now we'll have it for life. :) (I'm holding off on using the $10 until at least next week. It's good to have a few not spending money days in the week, and next week I'm going to try to get my budget lower- since I want a little more money to be available for our Cali trip.)
I also spent $6.47 at the Buy Low this morning. They have some awesome deals going on- especially their Wednesday produce deals as always. I don't have time to post them, but you can look here at the PYP forum for a quick list.

My Albertsons and Buy Low shopping trips!
Wednesday I went to the library for storytime and lunch on the grass. After we ran over to the Buy Low and hit it's Wednesday craziness I wanted to run to Albertsons- but my little boy was having a rough time- and I didn't know if we could make it. I decided in the end to run in since I was right there, I had everything ready, and I could be really fast. Boy am I glad I did!
Here's what I got at the Buy Low:

Albertsons is where the REAL deals begin though...
I got the normal Kraft deals posted on the grocerysmarts list- but then there were baby items in two big grocery carts on clearance. The food, spoons and wipes were .10 each and the cups and packs of toddler dinner sets were $1.00! And I was in need of some sippy cups- especially the one with a straw in it- GIDDINESS!!! (I could probably resell some of these and make a good profit especially as many of these expiration dates aren't for another year- but I have a hard time buying something and reselling it for a higher price- I think everyone wants to find things at the best price- and if I found it cheaper I either need to keep it or let someone else take it for that price. I don't know what's wrong with me- I'm sure I could make a lot of money reselling things I get for so cheap, but I can't do it. Kudos to you that can though!)

Retails for: $48.01- (not including the baby food clearance regular prices- because they just ring up as clearance.)
I got all of this for $16.36- seriously! I know I saved more the 65% off it says considering the baby items' regular prices factored in.
The toddler dinners, baby food and juices will be perfect for the trip we're taking in a few weeks. And the sippy cups! I have been searching for one with a straw at a good price for so long! I'm so excited!
Here's what I got at the Buy Low:
- 5 lbs of chicken
- 2 loaves of french bread
- 1 Watermelon- 10 lbs
- 1 Red Onion
- 6 peaches
- 8 apples
- 3 bananas
- 1 stalk of celery
- 1 lb of ham

Albertsons sale and double coupons!
Albertsons is having a pretty good Kraft sale tomorrow. To see a preview of the sale, you can go here. Also in the Albertsons ad there will be more DOUBLE COUPONS! So if you have any neighbors that throw out their ads or don't use coupons, (I don't know why they wouldn't!) you can kindly inform them that you will be more than happy to "recycle" them for free. Make sure to be on the lookout for them so you don't miss them though!
I'm excited about the Balsamic Vinegar that's on sale for. 90- I LOVE making french bread and then dipping the bread in oil and this vinegar, just like at a restaurant.
And the Hawaiian's Own frozen juice for .70 each! These are delicious!
Good luck with the sale for you!

Mac and Cheese and Capri Sun deal!
UPDATE: The catalina that prints will only do so through May 31st- so if you want to get in on this deal make sure to get there before the end of Sunday!
If your family eats Mac and Cheese and Capri Suns- this could be a good deal for you! Albertsons has the 5 pack of Mac and Cheese on sale Buy One Get One Free or the coupon jargon is BOGO.
On the Mac and Cheese there is a coupon for free capri sun with purchase.
THEN after you give the cashier your two coupons and you pay- a $2 catalina will print for the mac and cheese.
You end up paying $6.05- but get back a $2 catalina- so it's like you paid $4.05- a GREAT deal for all of that! Go try it yourself!
Thanks Joy! (That's the picture of her awesome find, and she got milk with her $2 catalina. Check out her blog- it's great to see how open she is with her budget and what she is able to get with it every week. And her recipe ideas are fantastic, that's actually my favorite part!)

Discussion on how Albertsons double coupons work
I received a question on explaining how Albertsons double coupon works, and hope I can clear it up here.
Albertsons put 3 double coupons in their mailer ad this week. You cut those out just like a regular coupon, and bring them to the store. (If you threw yours away you can sometimes request one at customer service.)
You ALSO bring the coupon you want doubled, so for example I used the printable $1/1 package of Kraft 2% cheese.
Go and get your product, so for me it was the package of Kraft 2% cheese that is on sale for $2.
Bring it up to the register, hand the cashier your item, then your $1/1 cheese coupon and lastly your Albertsons double coupon. The cashier will manually enter how much the coupon is doubling for. (So for the cheese it will be $1)
Kraft Cheese on sale $2
Printable Manufacturers coupon- minus $1
Albertsons double coupon- minus $1
You pay $0 for cheese! FREE!!!
If you have three items to double, hand them your three regular coupons and then the three Albertsons double coupons, and the cashier will enter each of the three coupons in the system, but you walk out of there with free cheese or whatever else you decided to get with your double coupons.
So it's like using two coupons for one product, usually not legal, but since it's a store coupon, it's the store matching the cost of your first coupon, so the manufacturers aren't out double the money for you buying only one product.
I hope that helps!
Albertsons put 3 double coupons in their mailer ad this week. You cut those out just like a regular coupon, and bring them to the store. (If you threw yours away you can sometimes request one at customer service.)

Albertsons deals this week!
Since my husband had the car at work yesterday, he said he would watch Jack for me if I wanted to go out after he got home. So I headed off to Albertsons to get my double coupon deals. (Yep I'm an addict. I get the choice to go somewhere without my darling little boy and I choose a grocery store.)
Here's what I got:

And that doesn't include the savings on the bacon after the markdown. It would be more than what it says since the full price for each package was $5.50. I was able to get 4 for less than the price of one at that price! Bacon freezes really well, and I haven't seen good quality bacon on sale for a long time. My husband was really happy!
Now to go find some more double coupons before Tuesday...
Total spent for the week $13.14. I think I might hit under $130 this month for groceries- AWESOME!!!
Here's what I got:
- 16 oz container sour cream
- 1 bag strawberry marshmallows
- 2 8 oz bags of shredded cheese
- 4 packages of bacon- on clearance for .99!
- 1 box graham crackers
- 1 package of hersheys chocolate bars
Retails for $26.33
After coupons and sales I paid $7.15
That's a savings of 73%!
