I have had several emails and questions regarding this so I thought I would address it in a post for all of us to read and understand together.
Sunday newspaper coupons come in packets- the general coupon packets, also called inserts, are
The Smart Source insert comes almost every single week and the Red Plum insert comes almost as often as that. (We did not receive a Red Plum insert this past Sunday. But there were higher value coupons in the Smart Source packet to make up for it.) The Proctor and Gamble insert (also known as the P&G Brand Saver) usually only comes once a month on the first Sunday of the month- and then randomly here and there- but not very often outside of the first Sunday of the month. All of the coupons in the P&G insert expire by the end of that month, while the Smart Source and Red Plum inserts usually have coupons that last between 2-5 months after it comes out.
Sometimes there are inserts that randomly come that aren't one of these three inserts. When that happens we label it by the company that put it out- to distinguish it from the other inserts. That happened on April 5th with the Unilever insert. Here is what it looks like.
This doesn't happen very often- the time it happened before this was a Nestle insert in January. It's also very random- which means we usually don't know when it will happen until a few days before it comes out. An extra insert is very happy for me though- and there were some amazing coupons in that Unilever insert.
One more thing about inserts- there are usually no inserts on holiday weekends. So this past Memorial Day Weekend there weren't any coupons- and I would imagine there won't be any inserts on the Independence Day Weekend.
I hope that clears up some confusion!

Thank you so much! I was so confused about the "unilever" coupons...lol, and they were right there.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I'd love to do a guest post...Probably the closer to July 5, the better for me, since my wedding anniversary is at the end of June.
Thanks for thinking of me!!
