Just a little heads up for those that got some Register Rewards (RR) from the Huggies deal last week. Make sure you check the expiration date on them, because they are usually good for up to 2 weeks. (I have let two expire in the past without knowing, one for $1.50 and one for $6.00- my husband thought someone had died when I gasped and looked at the expiration date and it was past then.) If you didn't think very hard about what to get with your register reward but it's going to expire in the next few days, at least go in and get the free after rebate items and purchase them with your RR, because then you can submit your receipts online, request a Walgreens gift card and get an additional 10% back, or just a normal check and no % back- and then you can have some free items and still the same amount of money in the RR just in a check or gift card. Clear as mud?
Here's what I just did.
I bought the free after easy saver rebate Axe shampoo and submitted my receipt online,so Free!
I also bought 3 things of Reach Ultraclean dental floss! Which is fantastic by the way, it really does motivate me to floss, and those of you that know me know what a serious statement that is. If your store has this, definitely go for it!
The Reach toothbrushs, Ultraclean floss, or Listerine Mouthwash are on sale 3/$9
use a $3/3 MC from the 3/15 SS insert
Then with the $6 RR that prints, it's like you're getting 3 free items!
And I bought 15 things of Royal jello at 5/$1 (Use the WAG store coupon) that is a steal! The manager actually let me buy over the limit of 5 because it was the end of the week. He said he puts limits on so they don't run out as quickly in the middle of the week.
Lastly I did the dove deal, buy 8 items get $10 back in RR.
I bought 6 things of deodorant that were 25% off (Regularly $2.79, rang up $2.08)
and 2 trial size dove soaps (99 cents)
Total $14.48
Used 3 $1.50/2 dove deodorant MC from the 1/18 Red Plum insert
Total $9.98- plus a $10 RR printed! (Some areas only a $8 RR will print, but it's still a great deal!) (I had posted that this was $7.98 before- sorry I added in a different coupon I had, but didn't use on this deal, so the real total is 9.98- still a great deal!)
I also dropped off soap, Toliet Paper, some of those dove deodorants, and a bag of food to the food bank on my way back home. They said they were so grateful because tolietry items are in such need, and not always donated. So even if you could just donate all the deodorant and soap, and not even use it yourself, you're doing such a great service to your community this way, and it's really only costing you your time!

way to go on donating to the food bank. I wonder sometimes "How much shampoo/deodorant/toothpaste do all these people use!?" Good to see you applying your deal making knowledge to helping others.
ReplyDeleteWay to go.
Just wondering which Walgreens do you find is usually better stocked? (provo orem springvill?)I might acutally go try this today.
ReplyDeleteNot only do you have a thrifty mind, but you have a kind and generous heart. Good job Brooke!
ReplyDeleteProvo is restocking tomorrow, so you could check them out tomorrow. I find both Springville and Provo restoked randomly better than the other at different times. Just call and ask if the items you want are in- that's usually the best bet.
ReplyDeleteYou are always thinking of others. You will be blessed endlessly for that. I must learn from your example.
ReplyDeleteBTW- I used my RR yesterday to buy some much needed cold medicine. I was going to use the WAG $10 off coupon for musinex and then use my RR coupon to pay the remaining, but the coupon wasn't for the exact pill count or kind I wanted. However, I found the walgreens brand of musinex- the nasal decongestant- 240ct tablets was 50% off. So I bought that and got the bottle for $5.oo when it was regularly almost $25! Yipee!
