O.k. so my trip yesterday I got
- 12 cans of Hunts tomatoes (0.27 each)
- 4 bottles of Pam Cooking Spray- olive oil, butter and regular flavors (.50 each)
- 1 48 oz bottle of Wesson cooking oil (1.79 each)
- 1 bottle of Hunt's ketchup (.85 each)
Here's what I did
I printed off 2 coupons each of
$1 off Pam cooking spray and
$1 off three Hunt's canned tomato products
Then I went to another computer and printed off two more of each of them. (because you reach a print limit for 2 per computer.)
Then I made sure my total added up to $25 before coupons, so the 4 sprays were $2.50 on sale, the Hunt's Tomatoes $10 for $10, the oil was $2.99, and the Hunt's ketchup was 10 for $10 as well. Bringing my total to $25.99. (If I tried to do it without the ketchup my total would be $24.99- and the $10 off your next purchase wouldn't print because it's not at or above $25 before taxes- this is VERY important and can save you a lot of frustration if you are exact about this.)
*Side Note*-You could also do 3 bottles of ketchup instead of the oil and one bottle of ketchup so your total would then be $25 exactly and you would get a slightly better deal. We just needed oil so I got that instead. (Your ketchup would then be 0.60 each)
So then they scanned in my 8 coupons- bringing my total to $18.77 with tax and then the $10 off my next shopping order printed at the register (also called a catalina). Bringing my total to $8.77
Easy breezy- anyone can do it. We got things we were almost out of at a fantastic price- and this is also building your food storage folks! (Or as Eric and I like to call food storage- a food management system)
Let me know how it goes for you!
I had a really bad experience at Albertsons actually. I went and they were completely out of 3 things on my list....so I had to purchase other items I hadn't planned on to get the same deal. VERY frustrating. And when I tried to get a rain check for one Item they wouldn't let me because they said it was the first day of the ad and they don't do rainchecks on the first day of an ad. So I would have to come back again...I'm like "uh I don't have time to go to Albertsons twice in one week"
ReplyDeleteSo many reasons I like smith's more than albertsons....grrr.
That is SOOO frustrating! I'm sorry. Which Albertsons did you go to? Some Albertsons are better than others about being stocked up for sales. And some are just picked over too much by shoppers because there aren't any other Albertsons nearby. Their sales are the best, but it is true Smith's sales are easier to work, and they are sometimes better stocked. Whatever works for you though!
