Albertsons and Buy Low trip!

My cute husband went to the store for me yesterday with our last set of double coupons and scored big time! (I know I have a FANTASTIC husband- not only was he willing to go for me, he did a great job!)

I added his items in with the picture, so they're all Albertsons deals.

We got:

  • 2 boxes of Kelloggs Frosted Mini Wheats
  • 2 boxes of Rice Krispies
  • 2 boxes of Kelloggs Corn Flakes
  • 1 box Kelloggs Apple Jacks
  • 2 boxes Ritz crackers
  • 4 Yoplait Yo-Plus yogurt 4 packs
  • 2 cream cheese 8 oz boxes
  • 8 oz Alb. Italian shredded cheese blend
Retail price? $60.09
We spent $1.42
Total
Percentage saved 97%!!!!

Yep, I'm super happy about it. I did use one $3 catalina that works just like cash, and of course my husband doubled his coupons last night, but still $4 for all of that, I think I can handle it! :)

The Buy Low Market is right across the street from one of my Albertsons, so after I hit Albertsons I went to the Buy Low and this is what I got:

  • 2 cross rib roasts $1.79/lb- $8
  • 3 Granny Smith Apples- .23
  • 4 Bananas- .80
  • 4 big carrots- .24
  • 1 head of lettuce- .50
  • Green Onion bunch- .34
  • 6 Oranges- .67
  • 10 lb bag potatoes- $1
  • 6 lbs Cauliflower- $2.09 (I had a rain check from when they were out of it a few weeks ago, so I got it at 3 lbs/$1)
  • 2 cartons cottage cheese 16 oz- each $1
I spent $16.35- and as you can tell most of that came from the roasts. Since it doesn't tell me regular prices and how much I saved, I can't tell you that, but I think I got some great deals.

Confession! I didn't have a roast in my freezer like I thought, but the french dip sandwiches sounded SOOO good, so I had to get a roast to have it next week. Maceys has their roasts on sale for $1.69 which means you can get it for an even better price than me- it just wasn't worth .10 a pound to go to another store. I also got two because I like to make roast and mashed potatoes for a Sunday dinner, and that's a pretty good price for a roast.

I also bought some milk at $1.69- so my total for the week so far comes to $19.46! I'm cutting down our food budget a little this month to help pay for all plants we're buying for our gardens. I feel great about what I was able to get today.

  2. Awesome! I'll tell you what, Utahns are so lucky because you have SO MANY grocery stores! Out here we have Wal-mart and one other grocery chain HEB. No albertson's, smiths, harmons, reams, maceys, etc. You guys have so many options and I bet that helps with the deal stealing ! I am so jealous!
